Jan 30, 2025
Queensland judge throws out key parts of Adani's lawsuit against Ben Pennings.

In December 2024, the Adani Group suffered a big setback in its four-year lawsuit against climate campaigner, Ben Pennings, in the Queensland Supreme Court. The case attracted widespread condemnation when it was disclosed that the Adani company had hired private detectives to follow members of Pennings’s family.

In this video, veteran Indian journalist Paranjoy Guha Thakurta presents the background to this case whose outcomes will determine whether a large corporate player has the legal ability to shut down an effective part of the climate campaign in Australia.
